Kevin Johnston’s Blog Likely to Reach 500,000 Comments This Year

Dear Friends,

I am so pleased and happy that you like my blog and the posts I prepare for you. Sometimes I feel frustrated because I have to condense a whole story into an article of a few paragraphs, without having to leave out some important bits.

At other times, I feel like I could write and write and write because there is so much wonderful stuff I want to pass on to you. But alas, I have only so much time to spare and have other duties to take care of. Reconstructing the blog will take time but will bring some improvements in the long term for visitors like yourself.

I can for example add a plugin for FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions) so if you want to know what platform I’m using, which theme and where can you download it…..then there is a reply already. Please be patient with me because I’m battling some extreme family issues at the moment.

Let’s talk about comments. Everytime someone leaves a comment ( which is a separate file by the way) I get an email from my ISP server into my POP3 account but I have to click on the comment subject heading to read the content and take action..

Well at the moment, a comment is received from around the World, every minute of the day and night, so that equals about 1,500 comments each 24 hours. That translates to 45,000 comments per month and over 500,000 comments per year.

My main POP3 email account currently holds 135,000 emails when it’s meant to hold 50,000 max. So I’m getting various error messages and problems when I try to cull  and delete email messages I’m finished with. So I’m trying to deal with these time-consuming issues but that doesn’t mean “stop commenting”.

I want to say to all of you, how proud I am of you for taking the time and making the effort  in writing and leaving me comments. You do me a great honor especially as I see many blogs which are lucky to receive 20 or 50 comments.

I’m just an ordinary bloke who didn’t set out to be special. I just love helping people…..believes we are all created equal…..loves birds, animals and the whole Nature bit….and only sees goodness and beauty all around me. I can be completely at peace sitting on a log in the middle of a forest, or in the Bush as an Aussie will say.

Some people will say this is corny or mushy, or even that I’m nuts, but my life is based on the credo that we are all brothers and sisters to each other, and the simple things in life like receiving a hug or a beautiful smile are priceless treasures.

When I started this blog 2 years ago I didn’t have any grandiose ideas and special goals except what I’ve mentioned above. I write everything myself, I don’t outsource, I don’t advertize and I don’t give a stuff whether search engines like me or don’t like me. I didn’t set out to be the biggest or the best. Or even becoming wealthy.

My blog has been a labor of love with hundreds of hours put into it.

Who am I? I guess I’m basically an inspirational story teller who likes writing. Most of you can feel the passion in my articles, and many of you have suggested I write some ebooks or books. Maybe I will. But Kindles are exploding in popularity so maybe that’s the way to go.

I’m a geoscientist who was a single dad raising three beautiful kids aged 4, 3 and 14 months. Their favorite story was the “Little Match Girl”, a very sad tale of a starving small girl selling matches but who died of exposure amongst the snow and ice of a fierce uncaring winter.

So, where to from here? Well as you know I spend hours scouring the Internet. I’m now more aware than ever of the problems you’re facing especially at a time of huge changes even daily in some instances. So soon we are going to have long discussions about all the issues which are holding you back from a life where you can achieve all your goals and dreams.

The other big things are blogs and websites. Where and how do you start?…..Are they hard to do/make?…….Do they take up much time?…..What do they cost? etc etc.

I’ve become more aware of all the crap that’s online, and all the wrong information that is spread about, even from people who have labelled themselves as “experts”!

Lastly, I need to add to and continue my series on “Learning Affiliate Marketing”.

See Ya!
